FAQ

:bulletgreen:Is that a drawing?

Um, yes. I'm surprised how often I'm being asked this question and I'm very flattered. And special thanks goes to all those people who have added my drawings to their photography collections. Oh, and everything is traditional of course, I can't do digital art for beans.

:bulletpink:What do you use for drawing?

All my materials are listed in the 'artist's comments'. I use mechanical pencils, regular pencils, kneadable eraser, eraser stick, regular eraser, blending stumps, cotton buds, tissue (sometimes toilet paper, lol), ruler. I also use coloured pencils and some acrylic paint to add highlights to my drawings. The paper I use is a local product, but it's a lot like 180g/m2 Canson. As for the graphite pencil brands, I use Derwent, Lyra and Cretacolor. Coloured pencils: different types of Derwent pencils and Faber-Castell watercolour pencils.

:bulletgreen:What's a blending stump / kneadable eraser / eraser stick / [random drawing tool] and where can I get it?

Google it.

:bulletpink:How long does it take for you to draw something?

People always ask me that and honestly, I have no idea. I don't take time while I'm drawing. Plus, my drawing process includes watching telly, replying comments on dA, eating, whatever. I just cannot sit down and do one thing for hours. All I can say is that it takes me about 2 evenings to finish a smaller drawing and bigger projects may even take me a week. But that all depends on my mood, sometimes I draw all day, some mornings it's really hard for me to pick up a pencil.

:bulletgreen:There's a grid on your WIP, but it's not on the finished drawing! Where did it go? Where did it go?

I draw it. With a pencil. And then I erase it as I go along. Yup.

:bulletpink: Where did you learn to draw?

Gallifrey.

:bulletgreen:Can you teach me to draw?

No. But you can do it yourself. Honestly. Everything I know, I learned from tutorials. There is a lovely collection of all kinds of tuts I've found on dA in my favourites section, so you might want to check that out. I don't feel like making my own tutorials, because it seems to me that everything has been said already in other tuts, so why bother? While going through tuts, pay attention to shading techniques, because that's all you need. Drawing is all about shadows and highlights.

:bulletpink:I really like Michael Jackson/Robert Pattinson/Miley Cyrus/Zac Efron/random starlet. Please draw them? For me? *puppy eyes*

Sorry, no requests. I only draw stuff I like.

:bulletgreen:Very well then. I'll pay you. Do you take commissions? Or how about an art trade?

Again, no. Sorry. I find it hard to draw something I'm not interested in, things usually get screwed up. Plus, I don't have a credit card, so I cannot take international commissions.

:bulletpink:Can I use your drawing for my website/blog/avatar/whatnot?

Ask me and I might say yes. Please do not use my stuff without my permission.

:bulletgreen:Do you sell prints?

Unfortunately, no. Most of my stuff is fanart, so I can't sell those drawings on dA and since I don't have a credit card, you can't buy prints directly for me either. I'll try to figure out something in the future. : )

*naturalshocks is completely insane and a bit magnificent. She's a member of a species of bipedal primates in the family Hominidae (taxonomically Homo sapiens—Latin: "wise human" or "knowing human"). She is a shy 170 cm tall creature and can be found in Estonia. Despite being called a "wise human", *naturalshocks is deeply convinced that she does not know much and therefore she's always ready to absorb information from all kinds of books. In addition to books, zoologists have found traces of graphite and some crumpled paper near her habitat and this gives us reason to speculate that *naturalshocks is also a highly artistic creature. When she's not drawing, *naturalshocks is probably sleeping, watching telly or complaining about the amount of homework. *naturalshocks is obsessed with doctors and hopes to become a pirate some day. Or a crazy cat lady.

I'm sure you already know this but: your drawings are amazing. They really are. Especially your Doctor Who portraits. But your entire gallery is amazing, really.
