"Happy New Year, John."

Benedict Cumberbatch as Sherlock Holmes and Martin Freeman as John Watson in BBC's Sherlock. I used a screencap from 2x01 A Scandal in Belgravia as a reference.

Graphite pencils in Moleskine sketchbook.

I hope you guys have a wonderful 2013.

For some reason I really love the Christmas lights in the window. But wow, those curtains. ARE YOU INSANE. They have a really annoying pattern from what I can see. :ohnoes:

And yay, there's the fun chair again.

Aw, thank you! <3 I had some curtain practice on that piece where he's curled up in his chair, so this time it was a bit easier, as I tried to see the pattern differently. Ugh, it's a bit difficult to explain. It's like when I learned to draw profiles as a kid, I couldn't draw them when I was looking at the profile BUT I nailed it when I saw the ref as a wobbly line, possibly forming one side of a silhouette of a cool looking vase. :B If that makes any sense. :bucktooth: I swear I have a book on my hard drive that offers a more eloquent explanation to this, but it's 1:23 a.m. and I'm braindead.:bucktooth:

I think I know what you mean. :B Sometimes a hard pattern has to click somehow, and then it gets less hard? Somehow? MAGIC.

This is one of my favorite scenes from the show and I love the way you captured it in this drawing!
